The Tallest Building in the World

We all are always impressed by tall man-made constructions, like the Pyramids of Egypt, or modern skyscrapers.

Today, we'll learn about the tallest building in the world, where it is located and when it was built.

Burj Khalifa, or Burj Dubai, a 163-floored office center and a hotel in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, is considered to be the tallest construction in the world.

It was built in 2009 and opened in 2010 as one of the most expensive construction projects of the year, worth 1.5 billion dollars.

The building is 828 meters, or 2,716.5 feet tall.

Together with the tip (antennas), Burj Khaifa is 829.8 meters, or 2,722 feet tall.

The total floor area of the tallest building in the world is estimated to total 3,331,100 square feet (or 309,473 square meter).

The design of the building was created by American architects, Bill Baker and Adrian Smith.
