LOL @ Dan - "Unfortunately, computers are still binary".
>> Computer still binary.
>> Unfortunatly...
>> Computers... Binary.

I think computers are likely to be 'Binary for the foreseable future dude!
Anyway. enough fun-poking... The 'Unfortunatly' comment was way off...
But the numbers are correct.
1K = 1024 bytes
1M = 1048576 bytes ( 1024k )
1G = 1073741824 bytes (1024M, 1048576K)

Dan I know the feeling. Its the same thing when some company advertises that a product is "up to $70.00 off". That is so misleading to most people that don't pay attention. Could mean 1cent off the price. Well look at it this way, they would charge more for the 92.7 Gigs they cheated you out of.

All well and good if only computers and filesystems worked in base 10. Unfortunately, computers are still binary, which can only be closely approximated into latin naming conventions. In US English a bum is someone, usually homeless, begging for hand-outs. In GB English a bum is the part of your body you sit on. So in the same context, when speaking computers or binary systems, a KiloByte is 1024 bytes, not 1000. A MegaByte is 1024^2 (1024 squared). A GigaByte is 1024^3 (cubed). and TeraByte is 1024^4 bytes. We are being robbed of capacity every time someone is willing to accept the base 10 (decimal) rounding taken in human context vs binary. A TeraByte is 1,099,511,627,776 bytes not one trillion. Using this math, you are losing 92.67 GigaBytes for every terabyte you think you are buying. Rounding to english is fine (when estimating), but it annoys the crap out of me to pay for bytes I am not getting.

Your description "One of the units for large data volume which is equal to 1 000 MB or 1 000 000 000 bytes,"

is different to the rest of the page where 1GB = 1024MB not 1000MB
